Loew’s Metropolitan

The restoration of the Loew’s Metropolitan Theater for the Brooklyn Tabernacle is the recipient of both a Lucy Moses Preservation Award from the NY Landmarks Conservancy and a Brooklyn Builds Award for Community Facilities. The theater is designed to accommodate a 250-voice choir with full audio and video recording capability. The design also features a rehearsal space for the choir and a full audio/video production suite. Much of the ornamental detail was created using photos and remnants of old pieces.

  • 150,000 square feet
  • $48 million
  • Theater with renovated house and balcony
  • 250-voice choir platform
  • Audio and video recording capabilities in theater and rehearsal space
  • Refurbished interior ornamentation and decoration

We integrated new mechanical and electrical systems into the badly neglected historic interior and added theatrical lighting systems and audio/video production capabilities into the fabric of the existing building.
